Frequently Asked Questions

A map pops up with your starting position in the app before your session begins.

Move towards the location in good time so that you don’t start your session late (this can negatively affect your batch if you are late).

As soon as you are at the right location, you start your session and start taking orders.

1. It starts with the customer placing an order on foodora’s platform

2. Depending on whether you are the one rider that is best located in relation to the order and its size, it will be given to you.

3. When you receive the order on your app, you must accept it as quickly as possible and move towards the restaurant.

4. The navigation on the app’s map guides you to the right restaurant.

5. When you are inside the restaurant, you introduce yourself and the order number that you need to pick up.

6. When you have double-checked that it is the right order you have been handed, you ride towards the customer.

7. The navigation on the app’s map guides you to the customer’s address.

8. Then you have completed your first order and are ready for the next one to be assigned to you (Remember that you must stay within your delivery zone, this can be seen on your map).

When you first log into the app, you must give the app permission to see your location. This option pops up automatically when you are on the app. If it does not pop up, then go to the app’s settings and set it up.

Please note! If you do not give the app permission for this, you cannot book sessions or start your sessions.

We are happy that you want to continue as a foodora rider with us in another city. So far we have riders in 7 cities and we expect to grow to even more. You just have to write us an e-mail at [email protected] about which city you would like to ride in, and we will automatically change your location in the foodora rider app.

Yes, you always have to use Maps when you’re delivering. It makes it possible for our dispatchers to view how far you’ve come in the delivery process. Furthermore, you won’t be able to complete the different delivery tasks if we can’t see that you’ve reached the different destinations.

It all depends on what city you ride in and what type of vehicle you have.

E.g. in Aarhus on bike we have a maximum of 21 minutes in drive time.

If you want to know more, please contact our rider support on email: [email protected]

If a restaurant is delayed with the order you have to deliver, then you can choose to wait for it being done or you can contact our dispatchers, to receive a new order. The customer will automatically be informed in their foodora take away app.

If you have received an order, but wasn’t quick enough to accept it, then it will be given to another rider. We do this to ensure that our orders run as smooth as possible.

The schedule is published every Wednesday.

Depending on your batch, riders get access to the sessions at different times.

Batch 1: at 10 am
Batch 2: at 11 am
Batch 3: at 3 pm
Batch 4: at 4 pm
Batch 5 (New riders): at 12 pm
Batch 6: at 1 pm

If you don’t see any available sessions, there could be several reasons for this:

  1. All the available sessions may already be taken by other riders.
  2. Your batch has not been given access to the sessions for next week yet (if it is Wednesday).
  3. There may be an error on your profile that prevents you from seeing the sessions.

If you are in doubt as to why you cannot see the sessions, give us a call on 89 80 72 50 (Opening hours: Mon-Fri: 09:00-18:00)

As a foodora rider, you have very flexible working hours, and can therefore decide for yourself how much and when you want to ride, to a certain extent.

Every Wednesday we publish all the sessions for the coming week (E.g. on Wednesday in week 1 you will have access to the sessions for week 2), and you will receive a notification in the foodora rider app when you have gained access to the sessions. The sessions can vary in length, start and end time and quantity, but of course you only take the sessions that suit you, week by week.

Session are usually between 2-5 hours long, but there are sessions both in lunchtime (only in certain cities) and evening, so it is often possible to take several sessions in one day if you feel like it. However, it is the case that the majority of our customers order take away in the evenings and at weekends (peak hours), and thus it will usually also be possible to earn more as a rider at these times from 5pm to 8pm.

What is a batch?

Batches is a ranking system created to describe how well a rider is performing.

Benefits of the best batch

Batch 1 is the best batch a rider can get. This also means that riders in batch 1 will have first access to the schedule when it is published. After this, each batch takes turns to access the schedule.

When are batches updated?

The batches are updated every 7 days, based on the performance of the previous 14 days, meaning that the batch you receive is based on how you performed at that given time.

Here you will find various focus points that will help you improve your performance as a foodora rider, as well as your batch.

Main focus points:

●  Accept as many orders as possible as you are given on sessions

●  Be steady and always show up for your sessions

●  Be ready at least 5 minutes before your session starts in the zone

Secondary focal points (Good to remember):

●  We are always ready to help you both before, during and after your session

●  Give it max power on your bike so you can ride as many orders as possible

Note!It may be easier or harder to get a better batch in certain cities, as it depends on the size of the city and the number of riders.

If something prevents you from attending one of your scheduled sessions, e.g. illness, problems with vehicle or others, then it must be registered in the foodora rider app under absence at least 2 hours before the start of the session.

ATTENTION! If you have booked several sessions on the same day, your absence request applies for the whole day, if you only want to request absence for one of your sessions then please provide a  specific time period on your absence request!

Have you not requested absence from your session at least 2 hours before the start of the session? Then you can try to “swap” it via the app in the yellow felt, so other riders can take it.

However, if your session is not taken by another rider, you must be aware that this may affect your performance rate.

If you have booked several session on the same day, whereby you will be absent for everyone, this only applies as one no show.

If you have 3 no shows within the same month, it will trigger a suspension of 5 days.

This means that you cannot ride the sessions that you have booked on these days, and that you cannot book new sessions during the suspension period.

If you have booked several sessions on the same day, whereby you will be absent for everyone, this only applies as one no show.

Once your suspension is done, you’ll be able to book sessions again.
